Super Proud of our Dolphins-Coaches Edition

Wow!!! What a great two weeks we've had so far.  Coach Caitlin and I are excited with the progress we've seen and the willingness of the swimmers (all age groups) to give it their best each day.  Our goal is to help teach the children how to be safer in and around the water, by teaching the FUNdamentals of the four competitive strokes.  Please continue to just tell your children how proud of them you are as each day brings new challenges and  successes.

This Saturday morning is our first swim meet against the Great Northwest Gators.  Their pool is in the Silver Creek subdivision, across from Timberwilde Elementary School.  The meet is an early start (I think around 8:30 a.m.) and we're double checking with the host to verify what time our warm up is and what time the meet actually starts.

When you signed up for the Dolphin team you were asked to help with the management by volunteering in a variety of opportunities.  From being a timer, a runner, helping get the swimmers ready for their events, ribbons, etc.  Please make yourself available Saturday so our team representation is top notch.  Coach Caitlin and I make the decisions on the events the children swim and the events will be posted in the display case, just inside the front gate, either Thursday or Friday.  A child is allowed to swim UP TO five events.  Up to two individual events and three relays.  Not all children will start our swimming five events but should be close by the time the Championship meet arrives.

In order to keep from missing children in the line up PLEASE log into the Swimtopia site and verify your child(ren) will participate by Tuesday PM.  This helps us develop a healthy line up for the kids, create relays where we know we will have four swimmers ready to go, and we can give all Dolphins the best opportunity to show what they've accomplished so far.  Keep a mental note of how they look on day one until the Champs Meet on June 25th.  Remind them to pay attention in practice and enjoy learning something new every day.  You'll be so proud of their progress! Just be a supportive parent and let us do the coaching.  Thanks.

The Dolphin Swim Team runs the Snack Shack at our pool and the proceeds go back into the team account managed by our wonderful Ms. Nina.  We ask for a small donation of a 12 pack of soda, or a case of Gatorade, or Sports Drink, that we can sell to our neighborhood families when they come to use the pool.  You can leave it by the LG closet door, give it to either coach, or Ms. NIna.  We'll store the products, get them in the fridge, and sell the cold drinks throughout the summer.  Thanks in advance for your extra support of the Dolphin Swim Team.

As a housekeeping note, please return all metal chairs, after your child's practice, back  under the patio cover or put the collapsing mesh chairs back around the glass tables.  I find towels, shirts, goggles, hair pieces, left around the pool.  Please ask your kids check for their gear before they leave practice.

Here's to a fun rest of May and June!  We appreciate you all!
